The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved a PKR 3.4 billion grant for road infrastructure projects in Lahore, Faisalabad, Jaranwala, and Sheikhupura. On Wednesday, the 57th party meeting agreed on these measures.
According to sources, Mr. Abdullah Khan, Chairman of the Planning and Development Board, convened the meeting, which was attended by various party members, provincial secretaries, relevant agencies, and top officials from provincial ministries.

According to news reports, the funds were granted for the building of a PKR 1.548 billion underpass at Samanabad Morr, Multan Road, and the restoration of Jaranwala, Faisalabad Road for PKR 777.3 million. PKR 740.5 million was allocated for the renovation of the Lahore-Jaranwala Road from Saggian Bypass to Begum Kot, while PKR 381.7 million was allocated for the building of a metalled road from Sheikhupura Interchange to Begum Kot (M-2).
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has handed the provincial government Project Concept-1 (PC-1) for the 500-meter-long, dual-height Samanabad Underpass. The project has been in the works for about a decade, and the government has now chosen to bring it back to life in order to solve the city's mounting traffic problems.
