KP GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES MORE DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES IN UPPER DIR

Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari, Punjab Minister for Social Welfare, has authorized a PKR 1.29 billion road infrastructure rehabilitation project for the Attock region, according to news sources.

The cash will be used to construct 12 road projects around the region. According to reports, the minister added that the district road construction projects will assist to improve connectivity and reduce fatalities due to potholes and bad road conditions. The project will be funded over a two-year period by the federal and provincial governments.

The 12 roads that are part of this uplift program are as follows:

  • A 74-kilometer highway will be built that will pass through several remote locations of Pindigheb, Jand, and Fatehjang, and will cost PKR 4.62 billion.
  • The 12km road between Jail Chowk and Sultan Chowk will be improved for PKR 12 million.
  • The 1.25-kilometer Sanjwal plant to Tariqabad road would cost PKR 13.20 million.
  • The 4.5-kilometer long Dakhnair village road will be rehabilitated for PKR 14.150 million.
  • A causeway across Shakardara Nullah would cost PKR 14.62 million.
  • PKR13.042 million would be spent on the 0.8-Kilometre long Dhoke Syedan link road and rehabilitation of 1.7-Kilometre Dhoke Sanjwal road
  • The renovation and upgrade of the 7.75-kilometer road from Choi Bungalow to Dheri Kot would cost PKR 77.846 million.

The existing government allotted Rs20.60 billion for the district under the district development package, according to the chief minister, who also stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has restored the people of Attock's rights. He said that PTI's stronghold was Attock. This government's development activity in the area was unparalleled, he said since record sums were provided to education, health, and other areas.

The chief minister announced the construction of a 200-bed mother and child hospital in Attock for Rs5.32 billion, as well as the addition of 100 beds to the DHQ hospital in Attock.

He added that upgrading health facilities in Attock will assist people from neighboring districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Swabi, Nowshera, and Haripur. According to the CM, the PTI-led government believes in composite development, and that all backward areas would be brought up to par with big cities.
