Metro Bus made operational in Twin Citites

Islamabad: Shehbaz Sharif, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, stated the country's path of growth has begun from the point where it was halted during the four years of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regime (PTI). The representative of the coalition government promised to expedite the execution of important public projects during his remarks at the opening of the Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport mass transit bus project. Islamabad Metro Bus Service was supposed to be operational in 2018 but was delayed by the previous administration and debuted within five days of Shehbaz Sharif taking power. Approximately 50,000 daily commuters will benefit from the new 25.6-mile bus route. PM Shehbaz described the project as a gift to the people of Islamabad from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who wanted to make transportation easier for them. To lower the cost from Rs 16 billion to Rs billion, the route plan for Islamabad was dropped suddenly, he added, which resulted in huge losses to the project's implementation. PM Sharif said that the Pakistan Muslim League administration had started public transportation projects in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan during its previous mandate. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif extended his thanks to China and Turkey for their support of Pakistan's new public transportation infrastructure. The Chinese leadership has consistently backed Pakistan in all international forums, he said, describing China as a close ally and steadfast supporter of Pakistan throughout its history. China has made a significant contribution to Pakistan's economy, he said, and he thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. For the sake of the metropolis's residents, he pleaded with China to join Pakistan in building Karachi Circular Railway. PM Sharif praised Turkey for its assistance of Pakistan since its inception and remembered the support of Muslims throughout the subcontinent for Turkey's independence movement. Sharif said 15 buses from Punjab Mass Transit Authority, Rawalpindi, would be used as a temporary measure until a new fleet of Islamabad metro vehicles could be brought into operation. During the holy month of Ramazan, he stated that all metro bus rides will be free. Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority, stated that on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the CDA and National Highway had been able to begin the project within five days. Additionally, he said that 15 orange-colored buses will be used on the route, in addition to the four that serve as airport shuttles. He said that the metro bus's ticketing system had been built, but that it would only open if the prime minister gave the go-ahead. There will soon be a smartphone app that will allow people to access buses and shuttles that arrive every five minutes and every 25 minutes, he added. Rawat-Islamabad Airport will soon be served by a new blue line bus service. He then rode the bus on the newly opened route, accompanied by Turkey's ambassador Mustafa Yardakul, China's charge d'affaires Pang Chunxue, and a number of legislators like Ali Wazir, Marriyum Aurangzeb and others. For route coding, the Islamabad metro bus will have an orange skin. For a trip from N5 to the airport, it will take around 25-30 minutes to get from N5 to the NHA station. There will be a shuttle service that will cover a distance of 11 miles
